Doctor Who Magazine #398 - Journey’s End interviews: Adjoa Andoh, Elisabeth Sladen, Tommy Knight, John Leeson, Alexander Armstrong and David Tennant (again)
Heroes of Who (Part 4): Tribute to people that made Doctor Who what it is today- successful
Honorable mentions: Again I can’t pick, Nicholas Courtney, I think he does count as a companion but this is only so I can have him in my list of top 5 companions, the Brigadier met nearly all the Doctors and found each one as annoying as the last but he didn’t let this or the doctor’s genius get in the way of defending mankind, he risked his life many times, always trusted the Doctor and fought off many alien invaders. Elisabeth Sladen, I bet you saw this one coming, one of the most popular companions (in my opinion the best, there is no competition) and as well as being adorable and trusting she was strong, determined and the first companion to really kick ass she was the only companion to be given a spin off show (she had two) and is therefore missed greatly by mainly two generations. Not many people could be as important to kids now as they were to kids in the 70s
"What struck me about Lis was her grace," "She welcomed me, educated me, and delighted me with her tales and adventures on Doctor Who.
"And she also seemed to have a quality of youth that not many people retain as they go through life. Her grace and kindness will stay with me because she had such qualities in abundance and shared them freely."-Matt Smith (x)
